ABOUT THE PIECE:
An attempt at a failed translation of Machaut, Corsican song, and various Byzantine and Orthodox melodies and singing styles to accordion and double bass, united in fragile and slowly pulsating timbres. The piece is is written for Kalle Moberg’s research project focusing on new and previously completely unknown playing techniques for the accordion and also utilizes Håkon Thelin’s research on multiphonics and new techniques for double bass.
